Premium Cactus Leather

Our leather is made from nopal cactus. It preserves biodiverse regions and stays incredibly resilient to extreme climates.

We want to start on the right (environmental-friendly) foot. Current leather tanneries contribute to extremely harmful social and environmental practices.

In addition to being a by-product of the cattle industry, the animal waste and toxic chemicals from tanneries heavily pollute our water and atmosphere.

Family Owned

Our raw material is sourced from a usda organic cactus farm in Zacatecas, Mexico, where the nopal is native, typical, and abundant. Here, the cactus, needing solely rainwater and minerals from the earth to thrive, is grown without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or an irrigation system, and seamlessly blends with the wild flora of the region.

The Process

Only the mature leaves are selected in harvesting - leaving the plant itself undamaged and able to yield for up to 8 years - before being mashed, sun-dried, and processed with non-toxic chemicals to create the organic material from which our pieces are produced.

Did we mention that cactus is also a natural carbon sink? This means that not only does the cactus ranch significantly cut down on the use of water and energy through its natural techniques, but it also absorbs 8,100 tons of co2 per year while only generating 15.3 tons.
